Youth Golf Program
Goal: Collaboration with Boy's & Girl's Club and First Tee to introduce inner city children to the fundaments of golf. Provide exposure in areassuch as rules and regulations, managing emotions, deportment, the discipline required in skill development and healthy competiton. The program will be the basis for identifying high potential students to sponsor for tournament play and ultimately high school varsity teams.
Duration and Methodology: Year-round, indoor instruction during the winter; outdoor instruction during the summer, culminating in a junior golf tournament.
Participants: 12-15 minority students
Community Impact: Broadened exposure to constructive and health conscious activities
Youth Tennis Program
Goal: Introduce inner city children to the fundamentals of tennis. Provide exposure in areas such as rules and regulations, managing emotions, deportment, the discipline required in skill development and healthy competition. The program is the basis for identifying high potential students to sponsor for tournament play and ultimately high school varsity tennis.
Duration and Methodology: 36 hours per year through indoor and outdoor instruction
Participants: 5-10 students ages 7-13 during winter program and 40-50 in summer program
Community Impact: Broadened exposure to constructive and health conscious activities
