Roadmap to Success for High School Freshman
Goal: Provide Freshman students with concepts associated with achieving both academic and life success through an orientation geared towards self-sufficiency and the development of specific action plans to achieve freshman year success.
Duration and Methodology: Interactions per Year, Group Mentoring Sessions
Participants: 600 Freshman Students
Community Impact: Overall 25% Improvement in GPA for Freshman Population
High School Mentoring Programs
Goal: Provide students with ongoing guidance from male role models. The focus is to develop character and leadership skills which can be used to prepare for life's challenges.
Duration and Methodology: Monthly, Group and Individual Mentoring
Participants: 20 Sophomores, 20 Juniors, 20 Seniors
Community Impact: 80% College Enrollment of Senior Group
High School SAT Acceleration Program
Goal: To Increase the SAT exam participation and succeess rates of minority students.
Duration and Methodology: 12 Week group sessions conducted twice per year
Participants: 24 students
Community Impact: Improved SAT exam results for 100% of the participants
College Recruitment & Scholarship Fair
Goal: Provide minority students with a unique exposure to colleges that are willing to invest in our youth.
Duration and Methodology: Once per year, Community and High School outreach to motivate student and parent participation.
Participants: 600 Students per year
Community Impact: Issuance of over $2.5 million in scholarships by participating colleges
